Thank you to Fr. O’Connor for being with us during Vocations Week at SCC. We appreciate everything he does for our school community. Please come see our students in the Oliver Musical. Catholic Schools of Broome County Announce Board Membership
For 2016-17 School Year
Richard Bucci, President of the Catholic Schools of Broome County today announced the Catholic School Board membership for the current school year. The 13 member Board is chaired by John Mirabito, Chairman of the Board of Mirabito Holdings, Inc.
“The Catholic Schools of Broome County is very fortunate to have a Board that represents a cross-section of our community,” Bucci said. “This dedicated group of volunteers brings an invaluable wealth of expertise to overseeing the operations of our system.”
The primary responsibilities of the Board include Budget Development, Strategic Planning, Curriculum Development, Professional Development, Fundraising, Marketing and Enrollment for the four school system.
In addition to Chairman John Mirabito the Board is comprised of the following members:
Alan Ackerman – Director of Regulatory Affairs – NYISO / Customized Energy Solutions
Kristine Cunningham – Owner of The Glass Slipper
Michael Kukawa – Director of Operations & Construction at Binghamton University
Monsignor Michael Meagher – Pastor of the Parish of Saints John & Andrew, Binghamton
Karen Rattmann – retired School Administrator with the Maine-Endwell and Glens Falls School Districts
Dr. Jennifer Redmore – Dentist at Progressive Dental
Jon J. Sarra – Assistant Managing Partner, Hinman, Howard & Kattell
Brian Schmidt – Financial Planner / NFP Corporate Services, LLC
James Silkworth – Vice President of Human Resources / United Methodist Homes
Dr. Dennis Sweeney – retired Superintendent of Schools / Union-Endicott School District
Michelle Williams – Manager of Corporate IT / The Raymond Corporation
R. Mark Woodruff – Program Manager / IBM Corporation
The Catholic Schools of Broome County includes three Pre K -6 elementary schools; St. John the Evangelist, Binghamton, St. James, Johnson City and All Saints, Endicott and Seton Catholic Central a 7-12 campus in Binghamton.

2016 Seton Catholic Central Golf Team:
-STAC Central Division Champions- 2nd year in a row (12-2 record both years)
-Section 4 Class B Champions
-All 6 Varsity team members qualified for Section 4 Individual Championship Tournament by achieving a +5.5 or better scoring average for the season.
-Tommy Davis (11th grade)- All-Conference
-Andre Haykal (11th grade)- All-Division
-Brendan Burtis (12th grade)- All-Division
-Michael Bucko (7th grade)- All-Division
-Finbarr Huff (11th grade)- All-Division
-Peter Hartrick (11th grade)
-2nd place at STAC Championship Tournament.
The 2016 Seton Catholic Central Octoberfast 5 and 10k races, held last Saturday were at tremendous success with 162 runners and walkers participating. Octoberfast organizer and Saints Class of 1970 graduate Tom Carter donated $2,000.00 to the Seton Catholic Central Athletic Department to support the Saints athletic teams. Let’s look forward to Saturday, October 24, 2017, the date for next year’s race! GO SAINTS!!
Freshman goalie Tate Ackerman (Endicott, N.Y./Seton Catholic Prep) was dazzling in net on Saturday at Goucher, as she kept the University of Scranton field hockey team alive in overtime in what turned out to be a 2-1 win for the Royals on penalty strokes.

SCC Community, Thank you for a great week. I would like to congratulate our Girls Tennis Team on their STAC Championship. I would also like to Congratulate our Girls’ Soccer Team on a their victory over Dryden in Sectionals. Congrats to our Seton Engineers on their impressive 1st and 3rd Place Finishes. Good like to our Boys’ Soccer team today as they play their first game in Sectionals.
I would like to welcome Fr. O’Connor next week as he will speak with our students on Vocations Week.
